In the Greek language, there are two different words for time: Chronos - or linear time - and Kairos (rhymes with Eros), which can be translated as: the appropriate time - or ceremonial time.

By working together, let’s support your own discovery and integration of Kairos, so that you might honour the significant moments in your life through original and inspired rituals and ceremonies

WHY KAIROS

What types of occasions in your life might be nourished through us working together to create custom ceremonies & rituals?

What Working Together Would Look Like (7 Steps):

some examples of ritual elements to consider including in our work together:

Music. Dance. Singing

  • Rhythm & Melody

Music is an integral part of ceremonies and rituals across all human cultures. You could include a live musical element, or a favourite recorded song - whatever you choose, music impacts the atmosphere more than almost any other element

  • Dancing Your Life's Meaning

Like music, dance is inseparable from rituals and ceremonies across time. Whether its a performance during the proceedings, or a activity for all to participate in, articulating meaning through the moving body might be part of your vision

  • The Human Voice

There is no other instrument in all this world with a greater capacity for articulation and nuance as the human voice. Through the reading of text, recitation of poetry, chanting, or the sharing of song, the human voice is central to the making and expressing of meaning

Bodily Adornment

  • Design Original Works

Work with me and my collaborator, Arulu Gallagher, to create your own original design which will adorn your body, temporarily (Henna) or permanently (Tattoo)

  • Tattoo

Inscribe the significance of the moment permanently in your own skin

  • Henna

Employ the ancient art of Henna, or other temporary mediums, to inscribe your imagination’s landscape onto your own body

Clothing & Costume

  • Masks - Personification

Consider using masks or disguises to conjure certain entities, ancestors, or to evoke different parts of yourself.

  • Honouring Ancestors

Pay homage to the people and the places you are claimed by. Let’s explore the ethnic traditions and costume of your peoples and integrate them into our work.

  • Creativity & Expression

Let your imagination run wild, incorporating any and all sacred objects, mementos, or precious heirlooms from your life.

Drink. Feast. Flowers

  • Beverage as RItual

Oftentimes during a ritual, the preparing and pouring of a beverage can be an integral part of the ceremony itself. There are endless infusions and concoctions to consider for their significance and meaning. This should also including the vessels and instruments used to prepare the drink in, and the vessel used to drink or pour from

  • The Feeding of Life

From feeding the dead and the ancestors, to feeding guests, to the ritualised eating of meaningful morsels, food is often at the center of every ritual happening. As a literal vessel for the exchange of life between beings, you can find unlimited inspiration for how to incorporate food and its meaning

  • Florid Fantasies

Wherever humans gather to mark significant life events, flowers are often there as well. The oldest trace of flowers accompanying a human burial go back at least 14,000 years. We’ve been doing this a LONG time. Their visual beauty and aromatic gifts are a mainstay of transitions and celebrations.
